Dawnene is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin - Madison where she teaches courses on literacy and language development and manages the programs leading to the Wisconsin State Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist License. Prior to working as a professor, she taught kindergarten, first, and third grades, and was a Reading Specialist for area school districts.
